Liquid Immersion Project
Confidential Hyperscale Client
Capacity:
 1MW+
Value: $12 M+
Location: Chicago, IL
Type: FOK Technology Pilot

Scope

A first-of-kind liquid immersion pilot deployed in an operational data center in Chicago, with an initial deployment of 10 x 34 kW liquid immersion tanks, followed by a final deployment of 30 x 34 kW tanks. The tanks functionality required revisions to the electrical system, looping in the chilled water system to a Tier II IDF network, installation of a hot aisle containment (HAC) system to support electrical, mechanical, telecom modules, spill protection assemblies, as well as steel gantry supports for the cooling system. The project goal was to transition from a current conventional cooling system to liquid immersion cooling, proving the viability and scalability of this technology.

Alternative Fuels Transition Program

Confidential Hyperscale Client
